Hello. My name is Patty Harris. I taught at W.L. Swain Elementary for 8 years and this is my fourth year here at Tolbert. I will be teaching the STEAM class this year. I am very excited to teach this new class. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Teaching is my second career. My first career was as a medical technologist. I worked as a technologist for 15 years. I am married with two children. My older son Austin is 24 years old and is a student at Southern Polytechnic State University. He just got married this summer. My younger son Spencer is 19 years old and is in his second year at Georgia Southern University. My husband is from Panama City, Panama, and he works as an operator at Carter's Powerhouse. I received my teaching degree from Dalton State College. I went on to Kennesaw State University for my masters degree and then to Piedmont College for my specialist degree.
